For 15 years, I taught art and watched students light up the moment they picked up a brush. Even the ones who swore they "couldn't draw" walked away proud. My Bachelor of Fine Arts taught me technique, but I kept seeing that painting did something deeper, so I earned my Master's in Counseling to understand why.

I started Rush & Ruge Paint to reconnect people with art. Every kit is built to be a safe space to slow down, relax and create, whether you're painting on your own or coming together with friends and family.

How our kits work

Our mini acrylic paint kits come with everything you need on a small canvas: acrylic paints, brushes, a sponge dabber and a simple step-by-step guide card. There's no tracing and no pre-drawn lines. Painting freehand is how you learn to see shapes, mix colors and trust your own hand, so your skills and confidence grow with every canvas.

Shop seasonal designs one at a time, or subscribe to our monthly mailer box for a surprise design in your mailbox. We also offer custom kits made from your own photo, private 1-on-1 sessions, group paint nights and fundraisers.
